Slowly making our way back to dancing!
Watch here for updates as they become available.
February - Square Dance for Fernleaf School. What a large energetic group of middle school kids. They were tentative at first but really threw themselves into the dancing. We all wore masks and had a great dance!
April - Inside Out School Dance. So fun to be back with this group again. Our first dance since 2019. I've been working with this group for many years as part of their outdoors camp program.
May - Serenity Knoll, Jonesborough, TN. I was happy to get to call two dances at this favorite dance hall. One a Contra Dance as part of a wedding celebration for a couple of dancers. So much FUN!
And then later in the month, I called for a Square Dance as part of the pre-Contrathon Dance Events. Awesome as always!
May - And a beautiful wedding in Weaverville. It is always a pleasure to help bring together the families and friends of the bride and groom.
June- August - Square Dancing returned to Eagles Nest Camp this summer.
This was my 21st year of calling dances for this summer camp program. Seven square dances over the course of the summer from June through August! Square Dancing at Eagles Nest is a long standing tradition that I am honored to be part of. The dances always have live music and are in an open air pavilion on their beautiful campus. I've been calling there for so long. One of the traditions is that the kids and counselors all sing the calls along with me. It is a joy to hear them singing, "Yours is fine but you give me back mine, cause I'll swing mine any ole time!" So much FUN!
